What Makes CoolineKids Camp Unique?

A Free Extended Care Program.

Our Extended Care Program, led by Ms. Jazmin (Manager of Extended Care Programs), will provide a longer day for campers who want to take full advantage of our program and families who need to drop off their campers between 8am-9am and pick up between 4pm-5:30pm.

While our new Extended Care Program is being developed by our program design staff, it will include outdoor play, preparing & enjoying an afternoon snack, art projects, reading club & more!

And not to worry! Extended Care is operated by the same CoolineKids day camp staff. Staff who support Extended Care work on a weekly rotation include Assistant Counselors, Wellness Assistants, and Support Counselors. Your camper will already know all of our Extended Care staff from the day program.

The Junior Leaders Experience.

The CoolineKids Junior Leaders is a new program for rising 6th-grade students at The Primary School who want to grow as young service leaders, build healthy friendships and learn leadership through fun!

The Junior Leaders program is headed by our Manager of Play & Leadership, Mr. Anthony, who served on our counseling team in 2022.

A day in the life of a Junior Leader includes participating in whole camp activities, team building with peers, engaging in our Leadership Hour activities and projects, helping set up and serve lunch, playing on our blacktop and playground, and helping our in our Lower (Grades 1-2) classes to help younger children with their projects!

Junior Leaders are NOT staff; they are campers. Junior Leaders are expected to behave with more responsibility as they will be seen as leaders in our camp community.

A One A Kind Wellness Team.

Our Wellness Team, with 6+ full-time staff, led by Ms. Isabel (Manager of Camper Wellness), was designed to support campers with varying levels of emotional and/or behavioral difficulties at camp.

Their primary objective is to ensure ALL children get the best camp experience at CoolineKids. CoolineKids Wellness staff receive specialized training from a national Camp Mental Health Certified (CMHC) professional. Training includes crisis intervention & de-escalation, classroom support tactics, trauma response behavior, and other topics.

CoolineKids also contracts with a Behavioral Wellness Consultant, a Registered Behavior Technician, that provides 24/7 on-call advice, supports the Manager of Camper Wellness, and develops support and crisis plans for behavior.

It's Conveniently Located @ The Primary School

With a deep partnership with The Primary School, students get to return to their school site just 5 days after they leave for summer break! Our program will begin promptly on June 19th, the first Monday of the TPS summer!

The All-Inclusive Summer Experience In EPA.

Our 2023 program includes STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering & Math), Photography, Nature, Sports, Organized Play, Visual Arts, Reading, Robotics/Coding & Cooking!

Students get access to our new STEM Labs from KidsSpark Education and programming from a variety of enrichment agencies from across the Bay Area!

No other summer program in East Palo Alto provides a comprehensive skill-building experience that includes all of the above.

What more could you ask for? (tell us! we'd love to see how we can incorporate it into our programs)

Led & Supported By Community Leaders
